MD, MD (H), DiHOM
POSITION: Contributor, Mentor,: Medical Advisor
Dr. Shelton is the type of medical species that no longer exists. You might recall the early – think 1950’s - advertisements where, the doctor comes to the house with his medicine bag, takes his coat off, addresses the parents by first name and asks about their health, job, life and then go the bedroom where the sick child lays down , sits on the bed and gently touches the child’s feverish forehead. The atmosphere is the picture is one of relief, domesticity, trust and fate. The GOOD DOCTOR is here. All will be well.
There is one left of them and he practices in Phoenix, Arizona. Of course he is our family’s doctor. He is always there for us, always available and his treatments work as a charm. Got the flu?- your colleagues-, who gave it to you in a first place, will be missing weeks off work- Dr Shelton will have you are back on your feet in 3 days! Your child has asthma or allergies - your options are – inhalers for life, or go to Dr Shelton. He will opt for natural and homeopathic treatments because he, unlike so many others he hasn’t forgotten his oat “DO NO HARM”. He was the one that guided us to a completely recovery of our child- always has a suggestion, advice or solution- he simply can’t and wont give up.
This is a segment of Dr Shelton’s speech as a Former President of Arizona Homeopathic and Integrative Medical Association, AHIMA addressing its members. More about his accomplishments follow after this.
In his own words -
“What makes us what we are?
We were the kids in elementary school who were smarter than the most of the others.
We were the teenagers in high School who made the Honor Rolls and won the awards.
Some of us were the athletes and some of us were the Nerds who studied all the time but we were the ones who were good at what we did.
We were the College Students who studied all the time and gave up parts or all of our Social Lives in order to pass the competitive tests in order to get into Medical School.
We here in this room were the most competitive and won those battles.
We were the Medical Students who thought outside of the box and although we were part of classes where everyone we met seemed to be as smart as Garry Gordon survived the system and graduated with our MD and DO degrees.
We than went on to our Internships and Residencies and became the various types of specialists we eventually became.
We than went into our private practices, bought malpractice insurance, joined hospital staffs, hired advisors and attorneys, joined the various societies and paid our just dues and DID EVERYTHING WE WERE SUPPOSED TO DO TO BE PART OF THE SYSTEM.
We played by the rules and became Good Doctors that our patients loved and respected
AND THAN SOMETHING HAPPENED.
We all in our own way had our personal epiphany that showed us the light of Integrative Medicine that no one else could see as we do in spite of the fact that the logic of what we see and do is as clear as the noses on our faces.
Life for all of us has never been the same since that day but we here in Arizona are further fortunate because we have a legal way of being true to our roots BY THE SIMPLE FACT THAT ARIZONA has legalized what we do. We have peers here in AHIMA and in the other licensed Professions such as the Naturopaths, Chiropractors and Acupuncturists, that support each other with both validation and a source of mutual education.
I’d like to give special welcome to the President of The SW College of Naturopathic Medicine, Dr Paul Mittman ND who has joined us this evening.
Do we look askance at those that try to practice our style of healthcare by having short cut the system and feel empowerment by divine right without having paid the dues demanded by society as we have done? WE ABSOLUTELY DO.
We absolutely believe in abiding by the rules and Being the Pillars of our community with the hope that someday our fellow Medical MD and DO peers will see the same light that we did and clearly openly and lovingly hold the door open to all of them with a goal of teaching them what we know so that all patients can appreciate the goodness of Integrative healthcare which we feel is the answer to the ills of all mankind.
To those who have short-circuited the system we invite you to become our helpers and assistants and abide by the same rules we abide by. Work with us and we will work with you.”
WHAT HAS DR. SHELTON ACCOMPLISHED??
Bruce H Shelton MD MD (h) DiHOM has accomplished many things in his life. After graduating medical school he entered into the Good Samaritan Family practice residency. After completion of the residency he went into private practice with a group of doctors. A successful 14 years of private practice was not enough for Dr. Shelton, he knew something was missing. He got sick with asthma and searched for a cure. Allopathic medicine did not help, so he entered the alternative field and found his cure. In 1988 he went back to school and got his homeopathic license by the state of AZ and became a diplomate of the British Institute of Homeopathy.
The Homeopathic field has opened many doors for Dr. Shelton. The passion he has for homeopathic medicine and helping people get well is amazing. In the past 15 years of being a Homeopath, he has made the following accomplishments.
· 5 re-elections as the President of the AZ State Board of Homeopathy
· 3 years as the Medical Director for HEEL Pharmaceuticals Company. This position has given him access to the brightest minds in the world of Homotoxicology as he both learns from the Masters using the information in the Phoenix practice and on weekends help teach other Doctors all over the United States this same valuable cutting edge information.
· Traveled nationwide and internationally to speak on behalf of HEEL Pharmaceuticals and teach other interested Doctors. His travels during 2002 have taken him to Baden Baden for the biannual Medical week Convention where he was allowed to sit in on a private meeting of the International Scientific Advisory panel of Homotoxicology. He gave training seminars in Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Phoenix, Albuquerque, Atlanta, Miami, Tampa, Chicago and New York

· He has appeared as a guest on ABC Channel 15 talking about Thermography as well as on the Dr Bob Martin radio show along with appearances on other popular radio talk shows in AZ. he was even a long distance guest on a Sunday talk show in Oklahoma City. ONE OF HIS PROFESSIONAL LONG TERM GOALS is to be invited to be on the CNN Larry King Show.
During 2003 our practice goals will be to continue promoting our Heavy metal Detox protocol by combining Homotoxicology with the innovative Cardiovascular Chelation Prevention Programs espoused by Dr Garry Gordon; to continue the most Innovative techniques in Meridian Stress Analysis. OUR FILTER PROGRAM on the Biomeridian machines that we have are only installed on less than 25 machines in our whole country AND IS THE MOST ADVANCED MSA technique available; Our Thermography unit is likewise state of the art in early detection of Breast Disease as well as Circulatory and Musculoskeletal Disorders AND IT IS THE SAFEST IMAGING SYSTEM AVAILABLE; Longevity, Environmental Sensitivity Control and Cardiovascular Prevention remains our main practice focus. STRESSING THE VAST BENEFITS OF HOMOTOXICOLOGY IN ALL OF THESE PURSUITS WILL BE THE REASON THAT WE CONTINUE TO LEARN AND TRAVEL.
Besides these many work related accomplishments, he is also a family man. He is a great husband, father of 3 and grandfather of 2 with another on the way.
